Demonstrating their unwavering passion and commitment to science and technology, Professor Fortunato de la Peña, the former Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the current university research consultant of Rizal Technological University (RTU), along with RTU university officials, visited the DOST ISU Smart City Technology Business Incubator. This visit was part of their benchmarking activity at Isabela State University – Cauayan Campus, aimed at sharing knowledge and best practices regarding the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) program under the College of Computing Studies, Information and Communication Technology (CCSICT), April 18.
In order to raise awareness about the Smart City TBI and its operations within the university and the regional startup ecosystem, Dr. Betchie Aguinaldo, DISC-TBI Project Lead, discussed the background of DISC-TBI, emphasizing its role as an enabler of the startup economy in generating technology-based companies in the Cagayan Valley Region. Meanwhile, Mr. Matt Rodnie Matias, DISC-TBI Project Development Officer, discussed the incubation tracks of DISC-TBI, which include iDeaTech (student track), iDeaPLUS(deeptech track), and Startup THRIVE (faculty track).
The aforementioned officials also visited the Business Intelligence Research and Development Center (BIRD-C), one of ISU’s R&D centers that focuses on developing patentable unique business data models integrating multiple information systems from partner agencies to generate data-driven decision support systems.
