The DOST ISU Smart City Technology Business Incubator (DISC-TBI) hosted a Training of Trainers on March 20, 2024, at the DISC-TBI Training Hall, ISU Cauayan.
The morning session commenced with an inspirational message delivered by Dr. Precila C. Delima, ISU Cluster Executive Officer, followed by a brief overview of DISC-TBI and the iDeaTech Challenge Campus Level by Dr. Betchie Aguinaldo, DISC-TBI Project Lead.
Mr. Matt Matias, Project Development Officer, facilitated sessions on Design Thinking, Innovation Methodologies, and Design Challenges. The morning session concluded with problem-framing exercises.
The afternoon session continued with ideation and prototyping led by Mr. Matias. Faculty engaged in activities such as ideation and pitching workshops. To provide awareness about Intellectual Property Rights, Ms. Joe Anne Gayo, Project Staff III, and former ITSO Patent Agent of ISU, discussed a lecture on Understanding Intellectual Property Management. Dr. Arnel Fajardo, TBI Manager, delivered the closing message, encouraging the participants to engage in this initiative as it aligns with the university’s mission and vision.
The iDeaTech Challenge Campus Level: Training of Trainers for CCSICT and CBM faculty is aligned with DISC-TBI’s objective of promoting the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in Cagayan Valley. The objectives of the Training of Trainers include empowering faculty with facilitation skills and enhancing their ability to guide students successfully through the ideation process for the upcoming iDeaTech Challenge Campus Level on March 25 and 26.
The expected outputs of the Training of Trainers include trained educators equipped with the skills and knowledge for the aforementioned ideation workshops for students, as well as providing a clear workshop agenda.
