On October 7, DISC-TBI initiated a planning meeting for the Industry-Academe Congress on Technologies for Smart City Pre-Event Workshop, aimed at fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among faculty researchers.
The meeting was led by Dr. Boyet L. Batang, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Betchie E. Aguinaldo, DISC-TBI Project Lead. Dr. Aguinaldo provided an overview of DISC-TBI’s role in facilitating the commercialization of research generated by students and faculty.
Discussions also focused on the second iteration of the iDeaTech Challenge 2024 and the upcoming i-ACT4SmartCity event. As the host institution, DISC-TBI will be conducting a pre-event workshop for IT educators from the Isabela State University (ISU) system on October 15 at the ISU Main Campus in Echague, Isabela. This workshop will highlight the benefits of establishing spin-off or startup companies through talks by startup founders.
Dr. Rutchanee Ler Gullayanon, Director for KMITL Research and Innovation Services from Bangkok, Thailand, will also present on the role of Technology Business Incubators in universities.
The pre-event workshop will be exclusively attended by IT educators within the ISU system.
